I Heart the Lucet

I’m sorry I’ve been so absent lately. I’ve been in extreme pain due to my back. I recently switched doctors and had an epidural injection, but it hasn’t really helped much yet.

I’ve taken on two new crafts while I’ve been fighting the pain: cord-making on the lucet and the “double lucet” (similar to a knitting nancy).

One of my lucets, made by Wool Tree Mill and purchased through Stitch Diva.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I made this super cute heart pin inspired by Stitch Diva’s lucet challenge course.

I was really hoping to have some made to sell at my booth in time for V-Day, but it didn’t work out that way.

As simplistic as these look, they take a fair amount of time to make, and attaching them to the pin is something I’m not entirely proficient at yet. I sewed it into place and used some of The Ultimate! glue to hold it in place, but I don’t know how sturdy it is yet, and didn’t have the time to walk around with one for a few days to test it out before selling them.

I always do my best to make sure something is tested and ready before selling it, and these just didn’t make the cut this year.

My first heart-shaped pin made using a lucet!
The first heart pin I made on the lucet!

I hope you enjoyed your Valentine’s Day, and this post as well!

Take care,
Veronica
